How to use your NEW Progressive Lenses

Welcome to your first progressive lens!

Progressive LensesProgressive Lenses

Around the age of 40 we develop Presbyopia which is the inability to focus and get sharp vision at near distances like your computer and when you are reading a book.

Here are some tips to ease your acclimation to your new lenses!

  1. When you are looking straight ahead through the top of your lenses, everything will look clear and “normal” for distance vision.
  2. When on your computer, your eyes should be angled down to the middle of your lens for mid range viewing. TIP: If you have trouble finding the sharp point, slowly tilt your head higher until you find it.
  3. When doing up close work like reading a book or small font, your eyes should be looking through the very bottom of your lenses where the prescription is tailored for about 12-14 inches away from you.
  4. Progressive lenses are designed to give you sharp vision directly down the center of the lens. A good rule of thumb is to point your nose at what you are trying to see. Your peripheral vision will not be the same as it used to be.
  5. Repetition and dedication is KEY! Keep practicing! We’re always here if you need us for any questions or guidance regarding your new lenses!

Happy Seeing!
